IoT / Connected Device Security
Discovers and secures unmanaged IoT devices.
Overview
IoT security agentlessly discovers, profiles, and risk-scores the unmanaged and embedded devices that flood enterprise and healthcare networks. It enforces segmentation and policy for devices that can't run endpoint agents. Priced per device or per environment. Healthcare (IoMT) is a major adopter.
Only relevant if your environment is device-dense (healthcare, manufacturing).
Advantages
- Armis agentless discovery at scale
- covers devices that can't run agents
- strong in healthcare IoMT (Medigate).
Trade-offs
- Visibility doesn't equal remediation (many devices can't be patched)
- per-device cost
- overlaps NAC and OT tooling.
Open-source option
Device discovery/inventory still has no credible general-purpose OSS option — that requires vendor device databases spanning heterogeneous firmware that open tools don't provide. But firmware-level security analysis is now covered: EMBA (listed below, open source) statically and dynamically analyzes device firmware images for vulnerabilities, hard-coded credentials, and SBOM, complementing rather than replacing the commercial discovery platforms above.

Open-source firmware security analyzer: static/dynamic analysis, SBOM, vuln report.
