CMDash community code of conduct
ROADMAP-V80 J4. This covers every CMDash-run community space: GitHub Discussions on the public SDK / Terraform provider mirror, the Slack Connect or Discord chat, and office hours. Adapted, and shortened, from the Contributor Covenant v2.1.
The standard
Be respectful, and assume good faith. Disagreement about code, a connector definition, or a roadmap decision is normal and welcome; personal attacks, harassment, and derailing a thread to relitigate an unrelated grievance are not.
Specifically, out of bounds in any CMDash space:
- Harassment, insults, or personal or political attacks, in public or in a DM.
- Publishing someone else's private information — an address, a real name they haven't given, or anything similar — without their explicit consent.
- Sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention.
- Spam, and off-topic self-promotion unrelated to CMDash, its SDK, or its Terraform provider.
- Anything else a reasonable person would recognize as conduct inappropriate in a professional setting.
Scope
This applies inside every space CMDash operates or moderates: GitHub
Discussions on the public mirror, the chat space linked from
/community, office hours, and any other channel CMDash
sets up for this purpose. It also applies when someone is representing
the project elsewhere — posting from an official account, or speaking as
a maintainer at an event.
Reporting
Report a violation via /contact rather than in the space it
happened — that keeps the report out of public view while it's handled,
and reaches the same team either way. Include what happened, where, and
any links or screenshots that help.
Enforcement
A maintainer reviewing a report will look at context before acting. Outcomes range from a private word about a specific comment, through a temporary suspension from a space, up to a permanent ban for severe or repeated violations — proportionate to what happened, decided by a human, not automatically. Reports are handled as confidentially as the situation allows.
